John David Rowdy, age 76 was born August 28, 1945 to the late James and Macie Rowdy. He was educated in the public schools of Robeson County.

David (as most people called him) met and married the love of his life, the late Beulah Patterson and became the proud parents of six children.

He was a very active member of New Zion United Methodist Church serving as an Usher, United Methodist Men and volunteering at Sacred Pathways Outreach Ministry in Pembroke, NC.

He was employed with Texi-Fabric, Alamac Knitting Mills, and Mountainare Farms. With his dedication in the work force, he received several certificates and awards.

David enjoyed fishing, farming, listening to music and spending quality time with his family. He also enjoyed working on cars, they called him the "Back Swamp Neighborhood Mechanic".

He was preceded in death his parents Mr. James and Macie Rowdy, wife, Beulah P. Rowdy, brother, James "Pee Wee" Rowdy and sister, Carolyn Daley.

He leaves to cherish his memories, six sons: Michael Rowdy, Lumberton, NC, David Ray (Angelia) Rowdy, Rowland, NC, Gregory (Tammie), Charlotte, NC, Jeffery (Keisha) Rowland, NC, Corey Rowdy of the home, Jerry McCormick of Lumberton, NC, one daughter, Leslie Rowdy of the home, six brothers,
William Smith, Thomas (Ruby) Rowdy, Collins Rowdy, Billy Rowdy, all of Rowland, NC, Jerome (Barbara) Rowdy, Pick (Beulah) Rowdy and Thomas McKee all of Lumberton, NC, eight sisters: Mae Jones, Tammie McLean, Alice McNeil, of Rowland, NC, Linda Purdie (David), Phyllis Purdie of Lumberton, NC, Vickie Addison (Bill), Killen, Texas, Macie Hendricks (Linnard) Humble, Texas, Mary Rowdy, Houston, TX, brother-in law: Roberto Daley, Jacksonville, NC, sixteen grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
