Bonita Lorraine Dexter, 88, of Gardner, KS, passed away Oct. 22, 2021. Visitation will be held 10:00 am Nov. 5, 2021 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 306 E. Madison, Gardner, KS. Bonita was born June 24, 1933 in Sullivan County, Missouri to Harvey and Olive (Reger) Coffman. She married Harry V. Dexter on Dec. 22, 1951 in Davenport, IA. They moved to this area in 1962. Bonita took pride in her 40 year career as an administrative assistant. She had a knack for helping others stay focused and organized. She was rewarded for her skills by her last employer, Danesco, by a trip to Denmark. She thoroughly enjoyed that trip and cherished the memory. She loved to read and enjoyed music--especially Johnny Cash, anything country and country gospel. Her family and her faith were always first in Bonita's heart. We miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harry in 2019. Bonita is survived by her children: Vicki (James) Johnson, Kansas City, MO, Michael (Vivian) Dexter, Lenexa, KS and Jill (John) Mohn, Gig Harbor, WA; siblings: Harold Coffman, Houston, TX and George Rockhold, Pierce, SD; five granddaughters: Kari, Kendra, Kristen, Tiffany and Cynthia and seven great-grandchildren: Hayden, Sam, Zoe, Alex, Johnny, Naomi and Joey.
