Wilburn Dale Alford, 79, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 15th 2020.
He was born in Poplar Bluff [Butler Co.], Missouri on January 28th, 1941 to George and Laura (Conover) Alford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers William and Lyle, sisters Ruby, Nellie, Lucille, Leta, Anna Ruth.
Wilburn is survived by his wife, Nora Evelyn (Langley) Alford of Collinsville, Illinois, children, Mark and Regina (Alford) Dycus, Collinsville, Il., Jeffrey and Traci (Kowalski) Alford, St. Jacob, Il. He is also survived by grandchildren, Sarah Dycus of Alton, Il, and Jordyn Alford of St. Charles, Mo., Sisters, Wilma (Richard) Cochran, and Velma Lolley
Wilburn was an Auto Mechanic, Thomas Brothers Automotive of Collinsville, Il and later for Mark Muffler of Edwardsville. He also, trained horses and was a ferrier (horse shoer) for a time. He did enjoy working outside, gardening, working in the barn/garage, and riding his horses. He also very much enjoyed his family, and watching his grand-daughters play soccer and fast pitch softball.
…. Funeral will be Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11:00 am at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
