SHOREWOOD - Hegemann, Irene A., age 92, passed away August 20, 2013. Irene was born May 26, 1921 in Racine to William and Julia (Christman) Rogan. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and spent most of her life living in Burlington, Racine, East Troy, Manitowoc, Kenosha and Whitefish Bay. She was a bookkeeper and a Real Estate Broker for many years. She retired in 1982 when she married Eugene Hegemann, October 9, 1982. Eugene preceded Irene in death on Feb. 1, 2003. She was an auxiliarian at Memorial Hospital in Burlington for 16 years and a delegate for the American Diabetes Association. Irene is survived by her children: Bill (Jamie) Brooks of Racine, David Brooks of Kenosha and Patricia (Louis) Arata of Whitefish Bay; grandchildren: Cristin Brooks, Carolyn (Erik) Sherman all of Miami, FL, and Elizabeth (Brett) Christiansen of Whitefish Bay; great-grandchildren: Chase Sherman and Lydia Christiansen; nephews: Kenneth (Phyliss) Rogan and Leonard (Debbie) Rogan, niece: Judy (Jim) Ault, other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Wilbur Scheibe, William Brooks and Eugene, her mother and step-father: Julia and Charles Wahler, her brother and his wife: Bill (Genevive) Rogan. Funeral services for Irene will be Monday, August 26, 2013 6:00PM at North Shore Presbyterian Church (4048 N. Bartlett Ave. Shorewood, WI). Memorial visitation will be from 4:00PM until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions can be directed to: American Diabetes Association or the Heart Association.
