Marcus A. "Mark" Halepeska, age 88, of Hampton, died peacefully following a brief illness on Thursday evening, October 28, 2021.
Marcus A., the son of George and Hermina (Witte) Halepeska, was born on July 16, 1933, in Victoria, Texas.
He married Regina M. Sterner on October 30, 1957, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in St. Paul. Mark was a longtime engineer and manager at Koch Refinery. He loved the outdoors, fishing, woodworking and smoking cigars. Mark was a very involved parishioner at St. Mathias Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Merle Baugh; wife, Regina; his son, Damian; and his brother, Bill Halepeska.
Mark is survived by his children, Donald Halepeska, Mary Ann (John) Snyder, and Leah Elston; grandchildren, Sarah (Peter) Wille, Taylor Elston, Jake Elston, and Claire Elston; siblings, Donald Halepeska, and Ruth Pons; step sister, Mary Beth; and by many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, with Father Michael Tix officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment will be at the parish cemetery following mass. A reception will follow the graveside serviced at Mark's home.
