Carrie Pemberton Stauffer
Carrie Pemberton was born in Vernon Township, Isabella County, Michigan, August 7, 1885, and in 1900 moved to Farwell with her parents. Seventeen years ago, she was united in marriage to Mr. John Stauffer. The family lived in Farwell for nine years then moved to Alma, where they have since resided.
The deceased had been a member of the Royal Neighbors since 1906. She died at Brainard Hospital, Alma, on August 10th, and the body was brought to Farwell for burial. The funeral was held from the Cong'l church on Friday afternoon. Three sons, Daniel, John and Herbert, with the husband are left to mourn. Also two brothers, Wm. and George Pemberton, and one, sister, Mrs. Hulda Priest.
Attending the funeral from away were T. Mayes and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Mayes, Mr. and Mrs. W. Hayward of Alma and Mrs. Ina Brillis, of Lansing.
