To my mother Rachel Paul Morris

A mother is forever,
I said the day she died.
With tearing eyes
I spoke her name.
She did not answer back,
And knowing that she never would,
I cried.

Just then a voice inside my brain
So sweet and so familiar
Said in tones that soothed my soul.
"You always will remember."

-----------
She was born and grew up in the Barnett community, but when she married Lee Morris she adopted his family and friends from Glensted. She was an oral historian and told me the stories of all the people in the Versailles area.
Her life was always full of doing things for others. She worked at a Cannery in Stockton California when I was little and she helped Dad run the Pistal Club at the lake of the Ozarks. She worked as an accountant at Montgomery Ward in Sedalia Missouri and modeled Town and Country Shoes. She also worked at the Missouri Bowl and helped Dad run his trucking company. In Stockton it was Lee Morris Trucking and also in Sedalia, Missouri. She adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she could.
