KENNETH MORRIS MURPHY
Kenneth Morris Murphy, 76, of the Airport Road, Bluefield died Friday, July 5, 1996, at Bluefield retirement center.
Born October 10, 1919, at Dearing, McDowell County, W.V., he was the son of the late Willard and Helena Florence Freeman Murphy. He was a graduate of Fairfax County High School and had attended the University of Md. He was a retired Service Manager in the Automotive Division of Sears. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, John Michael Darnell.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Carol McGuire Murphy of Bluefield; four sons, Kenny Bill Murphy and John Paul Murphy both of Bluefield, Michael Murphy of Radford, Va., and Joey Murphy of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Susan Brooks of Falls Church, Va. and Flo Bender of Myrtle Beach, S.C., two stepdaughters, Regina Martin of Baltimore, Md. and Diana Donahue of Camp Creek; one brother, James Murphy of Bluefield; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 8, 1996, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Rev. Albert Jarvis and Mr. Gene Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Bluefield Tazewell Road.
Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
