Alvis Moreland Coleman passed away Tuesday, May 11th, 2004. He was born Sept. 20, 1927 in Mineola, the son of Charles Dubose Coleman and Ruth Stafford Coleman.
After an undergraduate degree from North Texas State, he graduated from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He later earned a doctorate from Drew University. As a Methodist preacher he served churches in Canton, Winnsborough, Call and Watson's Chapel, Sabine Pass, Groves, Longview, Galveston, Velasco and Oyster Creek, Marshall, Newton and Burkeville, Cameron, Rosenberg, Houston (St. Marks), Crockett, and Caldwell before retiring from the ministry. He touched many lives in his service to God.
