SHOW LOW - William Samuel Fitzpatrick, 65, owner of Fitzpatrick Oil Drilling in Corpus Cristi, Texas, died Nov. 26, 1984, at his residence in Show Low.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was born in Independence, Kan., and moved to Arizona 18 months ago from Corpus Cristi. He was a co-founder of the Corpus Cristi Museum.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; daughters, Patty, Liz and Maggie Dawson; sons, Lee Stephens and Tom Stephens; and six grandchildren.

Mass will be 2 p.m. today at Our Savior's Episcopal Church in Show Low. Jackson Mortuary made arrangements.

Civic leader Fitzpatrick dies

W.S. "Sam" Fitzpatrick, a Corpus Christi civic leader and oilman, died Monday in a Show Low, Ariz., hospital after a short illness.

Fitzpatrick, 65, was president of Fitzpatrick Drilling Co., which has offices in the Wilson Building.

coming to Corpus Christi in 1945, Fitzpatrick served as a member of the Airport and Industrial boards, as well as the Corpus Christi Museum, where he was named an honorary curator.

He also was a member of several archaeological and geological societies.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy; a daughter, Patricia H. Fitzpatrick of Houston; two step-sons, Lee Stephens of Phoenix, Ariz., and Thomas Stephens of Harlingen; two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Dawson of Corpus Christi and Elizabeth Stephens of Tempe, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will at 2 p.m. Friday the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Corpus Christi. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville.
