Dr. Finis Ewing Henderson was the tenth child of James Philander Henderson (1847-1926) and Margaret Ann Buttram Henderson(1852-1925).
He was a World War I Veteran and was in the Calvary also.
He was born in Altus township of Oklahoma Territory which is now in Jackson County, Oklahoma. He was raised in the Texas Panhandle and in Portales, Roosevelt County, New Mexico. He moved to Kansas and graduated in 1929 from the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, Kansas.
He married Miss Billie Bourn Robbins. of Missouri who was living in Manhattan, Kansas before her marriage to Finis on the 2nd August 1927 in Portales, New Mexico by L.L.Thurston Minister of The Gospel.
Finis & Billie raised two sons:
1. William L Henderson h/o Florence Bellinger Henderson.
2. Jack T Henderson (1920 - 1995) married Delores Agnes Hess (1925 - 2005)
He was a prominent Veterinarian of Elko, Nevada the last eleven years of his life.
