A Frankish princess and abbess of Chelles. She was the daughter of Pepin the Short and his wife Bertrada of Laon and the sister of Charlemagne. She died in Chelles, Seine-et-Marne, Ile-de-France, in the convent she had served for most of her life. The abbey was dissolved in 1790, during the French Revolution. The abbey complex was sold as a national asset in 1796 and destroyed.
