Mrs. Sophia Kirkham Tracy, widow of Thomas Tracy, died at her home here Thursday morning. She had been sick about four months. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kirkham of Newington, and was born in September, 1828. She was a teacher In the public schools for many years, and married Thomas Tracy of New Britain about thirty years ago. They lived In Newington with Mrs. Tracy's mother, Mrs. William Kirkham. Mrs. Tracy was a valued member of the Congregational- Church here. She had been for the past twelve years president of the local auxiliary of the Hartford Branch of the Woman's Board of Foreign Missions, and was a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, and for several years sustained a Sunday school at the Home for Incurables. She had no children. She leaves one brother, John S. Kirkham, five nephews and three nieces. The funeral will he held at her residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
