She graduated from Guernsey High School in 1948. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hope, AR. After retiring from Hope Police Department, she continued working part time at Wilson Furniture. She loved working in her beautiful flower gardens, spending time with family, researching genealogy and overnight trips with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, P.B. & Corrie Vann Faris; one son, Mike Newton; two brothers, Delma Ray and Emmet Faris; four sisters, Selma Faye, Virginia Quillin, Bernice Powell and Louise Powell; and one great grandson.
Visitation will begin 1:00pm until the 2:00pm funeral service will Friday, June 12, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Hope. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR. under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Hope.
