Mr. Servidio was Chief Engineer of the Facilities Engineer Division at Marine Ocean Terminal, Bayonne, N.J. where he was employed for 33 years before his retirement three years ago. He was a licensed engineer in New Jersey, Virginia, and New York. He was a graduate of Lyndhurst High School, Lyndhurst, N.J. Class of 1951 and Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Va., Class of 1955, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He was an outstanding high school and college athlete. He was inducted into the Lyndhurst High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984 and was inducted into the Virginia Military Institute Sports Hall of Fame in 1985. While at Virginia Military Institute he was a Southern Conference heavyweight wrestling champion and was named to the All Southern Conference Football Team. He was a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Colts Neck Township, and was a member of the Virginia Military Institute Alumni Association.
His first wife, the former Gail Frances Robertella , died in 1984. A daughter, Laura Servidio, died in 1988.
Surviving are his wife , Dora Mae Hackett Servidio; three sons, Nicholas J. Servidio Jr. of Blue Ridge, Va., Michael Servidio of Little Silver, N.J., and Frank Servidio of Manahawkin, N.J.; a daughter, Elena Servidio of Alliance, Ohio; a brother, John Servidio of Paramus, N.J.; two sisters, Madelene Musyl of Naples, Fla. and Rosemary Sanborn of Wood Ridge, N.J.; and five grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, N.J. on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Colts Neck, on Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown Township. Memorial donations to Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Va. or to the Martha Mary Guild of St. Mary's Church, Colts Neck, would be appreciated.
