Jake Wendel, 89, of Slaton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021. A celebration of Jake's life took place on Tuesday (Nov. 16) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment followed in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements were under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Jake Wendel was born on April 12, 1932 in Slaton to Leo and Ida Wendel. He married Patsy Jo Mosely at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lubbock on May 29, 1952 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. He owned and operated Wendel's TV and Appliance in Slaton before purchasing Radio Lab in Lubbock.
He loved to travel and did so all over the world. He was very active in a travel group for many years.
He is preceded in death by parents; his wife; and his son, William Alan Wendel.
