Chico Daily Enterprise, November 26, 1926: Death Summons Civil War Veteran. Augustine Ashley, 87, a native of Chico [sic], died at 4 o'clock this morning at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Ida Henderson, at First avenue and Palm street, Chico Vecino.
Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and had been a resident of Chico for the past 25 years. He is survived only by his cousin, Mrs. Henderson.
Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Fetters & Williams undertaking parlors, under the auspices of the local post of the G.A.R. Interment will be made in the G.A.R. plot of the local cemetery.
