Max W. Henson was born on April 2, 1929, in Grenada County, MS to the late Everett Arthur and Mary Emily Henson.

Raised and attended Jonestown High School. Enlisted in the USMC in 1946 where he served until 1949. After which he moved to Memphis, TN, and worked for the Fire Department as a maintenance painter.

In 1954 he moved to NLR, AR, and established M.W. Henson Line Marking Co. where he later retired in 1990.

He was a long-time member of Levy United Methodist Church in NLR, AR. A proud member of the Sylvan Hills Masonic Lodge #754 as a 32nd degree Master Mason. He was also a Scimitar Shriner's Clown Unit of Little Rock, AR. In 2003 he was selected as Marine of the Year by Marine Corp. League Lt. Alexander Detachment.

Max is preceded in death by his brother Charles Henson.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Patricia Stroud Henson; brother William E. Henson; sons Michael A. Henson (Mary) and Gary W. Henson (Barbara); stepchildren Jerry Salyer, Doug Stroud (Germae), Ann (Alan) Germany, Tricia (Michael) Davidson. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
