Murph was born March 12, 1947 in New York City, son of the late John P. and Ellen (Wollmer) Murphy. He was a graduate of Martin Van Buren High, Queen's New York with the Class of 1964. Murph served his country with the U.S. Navy on a patrol boat in Vietnam in 1966. He was united in marriage to the former Ruth Schuh on March 8, 1997 in Two Rivers.
Murph worked for Hamiltons in Two Rivers prior to his retirement. He enjoyed motorcycling, woodworking, watching the Packers, spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the VFW Otto Oas Post #659, American Legion Drews Blesser Post #88, and Vietnam Veterans of America Post #731 all of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife: Ruth Murphy, Two Rivers; children: Jenny Matte (fiancé Tommy Knapp), Manitowoc; Kevin (Danielle) Gulseth, Two Rivers; grandchildren: Saleena, Shelby and Maddix Gulseth; one sister: Joan Moore, Bellmawr, N.J.; two brothers-in-law: Lenny (Linda) Schuh, Manitowoc; Dave (Sharon) Schuh, Whitelaw; three sisters-in-law: Nancy (Cyril) Eis, Manitowoc; Carol (Kurt) Conard, Manitowoc; Mary Gadzinski, Manitowoc; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Murph was preceded in death by his parents John & Ellen, one brother Kenneth Murphy and one son-in-law Anthony Matte.
Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to take place at Knollwood Cemetery, town of Kossuth at a later date. Full Military honors will be accorded immediately following services at church by the Vietnam Veterans of America Post #731, Manitowoc.
The Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.until 11:45 a.m.
