"Mrs. Lillian B. Abner, 55, of 2919 Parvin, died Sunday at a hospital in Mount Vernon, Mo. She was born in Newport, Ark., and had lived here 29 years. Mrs. Abner worked for the Whittaker Cable Co. 10 years before she retired in 1977. She leaves her husband, John Abner of the home; two sons, Billy Abner and Ronnie Abner of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda McCoy of Lamar, Mo., and Mrs. Joan Newman of Kansas City; a stepson, John D. Abner of Riverside; and a brother, Billy Handley of Long Beach, Wash. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Newcomer White Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery."
