Lydia was born February 19, 1930, in the Town of Cato, daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Zipperer) Riederer. She was united in marriage to Edward Paul on February 4, 1948, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2017.
Lydia worked at Holy Family in the housekeeping department for 32 years, the last 17 as a supervisor before her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with her children, grandchildren and doing puzzles with a cup of coffee. She also was a dedicated church goer and believed in praying the rosary every day.
Survivors include her seven children: Sandra (Manuel) Martinez, Paris, TX; Roger (Janet) Paul, Manitowoc, Luann Paul and twin Linda Peterson, both of Manitowoc; Randall (Denise) Paul, Sheboygan; Mary (Lloyd) Bast, Manitowoc; Debra (Brian) Simmer, Manitowoc; seventeen grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Beverly Riederer, Fon du lac; Laverne Denk, Manitowoc; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter: Sharon Paul; one son-in-law Dennis Peterson, four brothers and one sister-in-law: Isadore (Marcella), Urban, Rueben and Florian Riederer; six sisters and brothers-in-law: Germaine (Edwin) Lau, Margaret (Frank) Kopidlansky, Ludmilla (Ray) Zaruba, Marion (Lester) Bartz, Jeanette (Edward) Novak, Esther (Joe) Krejcarek; one infant brother and two infant sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi- Marshall, 1114 S. 21st Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian burial will be Fr. Ben Johnson with burial to follow services at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 10:00am to 11:45am at St. Francis of Assisi- Marshall location.
