Mary Kathleen Hartley
December 29, 1953 - November 14, 2021

Mary Kathleen (Kathi) Hartley went to be with Jesus on November 14, 2021. She was born on December 29, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Jonah and Faye Alderman. She was the youngest of four girls and was loved dearly by her parents and sisters: Linda Anders, Betty-Jo Gifford, and Norma Alderman.

The family moved from Texas when she was an infant and Kathi spent her childhood growing up in Bradenton, Florida. Kathi married at the age of 17 to Kurt von Seggern and later had three children: Karla Huff, Kyle von Seggern, and Kevin von Seggern. Her years raising her children were filled with service to her community and family. She was a devoted mother to her children and was involved in every way possible. She was Girl Scout leader, team mom, active PTA member, and a driver to every activity that her active children participated in.

As her children grew older, she pursued a career in accounts receivable and worked for several major companies. She later married again to Chuck Anders and then to Alton Hartley who she spent her final twenty-three years with. In her later years, Kathi continued to serve others through work at her church, Valley Brook Baptist Church.

Kathi was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She especially adored being a grandmother to her eight grandchildren and loved each one of them dearly. Kathi is survived by her husband, three sisters, three children, two daughters-in-law (Amanda von Seggern and Elizabeth von Seggern), a son-in-law (Michael Huff), eight grandchildren (Kyle Dillon, Cole Huff, Alexander Huff, Allena von Seggern, Koen von Seggern, Anna Grace Huff, Nathan von Seggern, and Drake von Seggern), and two great grandchildren (Kaycen Dillon and Kollin Dillon).

Kathi Hartley's visitation will be held November 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Valley Brook Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia with funeral following at 12:00 pm. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker.
