My Great-Great-Great Grandfather, William Robinson was born in County Cork Ireland. He came to America circa 1810-20, settling in Alabama. He married Hannah Martin in 1817 but I'm unsure if they were married before they came to America or if they met here in America. I do believe that most if not all of their eleven children were born in the area of Lewiston, Pickens County Alabama. A log of births and deaths from the Robinson family bible shows them leaving Little Rock, Arkansas Sept 24, 1837 on their way to Washington County Illinois and all eleven children were born before this date.
Of the seven boys born to William and Hannah, four lived to adulthood. They were Robert M, Thomas J, John H, and William P. Civil War records from Washington County Illinois show all the boys born in Lewiston, Alabama. Various state censuses also show them born in Alabama. William G and James P died at age 6 months. The last boy child, James M Robinson, died at age 7 yrs. He is buried beside his mother Hannah in Laney Cemetery southwest of Nashville, Illinois.
