"Barbara Blanche Thomson Carpenter --Barbara passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband Larry and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 12, 2018. She was born to Edward Kenneth Thomson and Blanche Julia Thomson (nee Parker) on May 2, 1934. Barbara attended St. Clair High School while her husband, Larry, attended Marine City High School. Theirs was a great love story. It began when Larry's friend Bobby Frantz introduced them while ice skating in St. Clair. Larry and Barb were married on November 1, 1952 at First United Methodist Church in St. Clair. It was a beautiful fall, sunny day. They just celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary with all their family members attending. She was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church, which are the Carpenter's second family in Christ. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Blanche Thomson, brother Kenneth Thomson, twin brother John Thomson and sister-in-law Joan Thomson.
She is survived, and greatly missed, by her five children; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. We Love you Mom/Grandma/Mimi !!!" Celebration of Barb's life held January 12, 2019, Fellowship Baptist Church, East China Township, Michigan." Note: Barb's actual date of death was the 13th.
