Mr. Charles D. "Big Moe" Abney age 66, of Mt.Vernon passed away on Thursday November 18, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 16, 1955 in Covington, KY the son of the late Elmer and Adalorene Laswell Abney. He was a retired construction worker who enjoyed die cast cars, canning, gardening, spending time with family & friends, and was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors are: his wife; Mrs. Joyce Napier of Mt.Vernon. One step-son; Darrell Ray Napier of Powder Springs, GA. One step-daughter; Juanita Cope of Mt.Vernon. One brother; Dale Abney and (Sue) of Covington, KY. Two sisters; Kim Burke of Covington, and Lisa Gregory and (Glen) of Union, KY. Ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren also survive. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by: one step-son; Chris Napier, one brother; Randy Abney, and by one sister; Michelle Abney Duncan.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles D. "Big Moe" Abney will be conducted 1 PM Saturday November 20, 2021 at the Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Owens and Eddie Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the Merritt Cemetery.
