Chico Daily Record, Saturday Morning, October 11, 1902, pg 1 col 3-4: J.F. Wright Dead. James F. Wright, who was for years a resident of Chico and a member of the local G.A.R. Post, died yesterday at the Veteran's Home at Yountville. Deceased was 77 years of age. He was also a member of the Main Street Methodist Church. It is probable that his remains will be brought to Chico for interment.
80-year-old James F. Wright was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on October 12, 1902.
Chico Daily Record, Monday Morning, October 13, 1902, pg 4 col 1: Funeral of J.F. Wright. The remains of J.F. Wright, the old veteran who died at the Veteran's Home at Yountville, arrived at Chico Saturday evening, where the funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, under the auspices of Halleck Post, G.A.R. The services were held at the Main Street Methodist Church, where an appropriate sermon was preached by Rev. Fenton. Numerous friends of the deceased attended the services and interment.
