Frank G. Absalom, age 76, died December 13, 2007 at Buttonwood Hospital in Pemberton.
Mr. Absalom was born and lived in Mt. Holly much of his life. A graduate of Temple University and Rutgers University Law School, he practiced law several years in that community, part of that time as a member of the firm Powell and David. He was past member of the Burlington County and New Jersey Bar Associations, serving for a time on the State Assoc. By-Laws committee. He was also employed for many years at Heritage and Midlantic National Banks as Trust Officer.
In addition, he served as Burl. Co. Deputy Surrogate & Assistant County Solicitor and Solicitor of the Burl. Co. Planning Board.
Frank, early in his career, was active in Democratic Party Affairs, serving as President of the Mt. Holly Democratic Club, Chairman of the Mt. Holly Municipal Committee, Burlington County Democratic Committee, and BC Democratic Club. He also served as District Chairman, Citizens for Kennedy in 1960 and in the same capacity in the Citizens for Hughes, Candidate for Governor in 1961.
He was active in Community affairs, formerly serving as Director Peoples Building and Loan Association of Mt. Holly, member of the Hainesport Board of Education, Mt. Holly Lions Club, Mt. Holly Junior Chairman of Commerce, Mt. Holly Juvenile Panel & Secretary of Mt. Holly Library Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Mt. Holly Lodge #14 F & A.M.
Frank is survived by his son, William H. Absalom, II, and one sister Virginia (Benny) Conte of Vincentown, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, James C., William M. & John L. Absalom his father William H. & mother Sophye M. Absalom.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 PM at the PERINCHIEF CHAPELS, 438 High St, Mt. Holly. Interment in the Mt. Holly Cemetery will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday afternoon from 3 to 4 PM at the Funeral Home.
