Mr. Joseph R. B. Miller, 83, of Iota, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2021, in Jennings. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 26, 2021, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home with a visitation Friday from 10:00 to the time of service. A private family interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Richard was honorably discharged from the United States Airforce in 1961. He married Sandra Ann Cart, daughter of Abbie and Vernon Cart in 1958. They moved at that time to Lake Charles. He was employed as a driver for Calcasieu Specialty. He then was a fireman for the LCFD. After a few years he was promoted to Driver. Richard was hired as a guard in 1968 for PPG, he retired in 1999 as a lead operator.
Richard loved his family and even more so after receiving Christ as Savior in May of 2016. He read his Bible daily and prayed for his family. He loved restoring classic cars and playing music at D.I.'s Restaurant and other venues.
Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandra Ann Miller; three daughters, Jennifer Gail Foreman, Melody Ann Broussard and her husband Jeff, and Julie Denise Romero; one son, Bryan J. Miller and his wife Susie; one brother, James T. Miller; grandchildren, Joseph Edward Romero, Michelle Dawn Miller, Christopher Scott Miller, Brittnee Ann Broussard, Sarah Lynn Caswell; step-grandchildren, Christina Marie Riquelmy; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Bernice LeJeune Miller, Jr.; one sister, Lura Ann Miller; one brother, Nathan Lewis Miller and his surviving wife Mary Ann Miller; and one step-grandchild, Nicholas Sean Delcambre.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: 262 Danny Thomas Memphis, TN 38105.
