James. L. Worley, Anderson county pioneer and father of Mrs. R.H. White of Eustace, died at the family home in the Fields Chapel community of Anderson county on Friday morning.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at Fields Chapel Church with Rev. Mouzon Bass of Grapeland assisted by Rev. Calvin Nelson of Palestine officiating.
Mr. Worley was born and lived all his life in the Fields Chapel community. He was widely known throughout Southeast Anderson county and was active in the affairs of his home community throughout his life.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Martha Worley; five sons, E.T., C.E., C.C., and P.E. Worley, all of Palestine and W.J. Worley of Houston; five daughters, Mrs. R.H. White of Eustace, Mrs. R.S. Huddleston of Palestine, Mrs. A.E. Johnson of San Francisco, California, Mrs. W.O. Farrish and Mrs. L.A. Young, Palestine; seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, J.A. and G.M. Worley, Palestine.
