Rock Music Booker, Promoter and Manager. June Child was born in London, England and raised in Fulham, London. She worked for Veroniques before working with a photographer. She found work with Blackhill Enterprises (among the artists signed to the agency was Pink Floyd). At one point, she dated Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett. Barrett left Floyd in the spring of 1968 and their relationship ended sometime after. Between 1968-69, June met T. Rex (originally Tyrannosaurus Rex) co-founder/frontman Marc Bolan and they married on January 30, 1970. June was four years older and became Bolan's manager. Child played a key role in Marc's life and career, inspiring his songs, booking/driving him to concerts since he couldn't drive and arranging interviews among other things. The glam rock subgenre got UK mainstream appeal in the early 1970s when Marc went through his wife's beauty kits and sprinkled her glitter on his face, starting a musical revolution in the UK once he performed "Hot Love" on Top of the Pops (BBC) circa 1971. By 1973, the tensions in their marriage were apparently visible and it was ended unofficially in October of that year. They stopped living together but there was no divorce papers filed by either party and Marc Bolan died in a car accident in Barnes, London in 1977. After her marriage with Marc ended, June started a long-term relationship with drummer Paul Varley (Davie Allan & The Arrows) in 1976. On July 11, 1978, their daughter, Ilona Varley was born. When their relationship ended, June began a romantic relationship with Graham Porter.
