Services Held This Afternoon For Victim Of Burns.

Funeral services for Mrs. May Aldridge were held at Wilson and Knight Funeral Chapel this afternoon at 3 :30 o'clock conducted by Dr. Edw. J. Caswell. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery, Carrollton, with Wilson and Knight in charge.

Mrs. Aldridge succumbed at Greenwood Leflore Hospital yesterday afternoon from burns sustained in an explosion and fire at her apartment, 607 West Market Street, Sunday, June 16, when a can of cleaning fluid she was examining for leaking fumes, exploded, setting her clothing on fire.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Aldridge of Greenwood, prominent and pioneer citizens or this city. She had made her home here since early childhood. Mrs. Aldridge was a member of the Baptist church.

She is survived by two brothers and two sisters: Mrs. O. F. Bledsoe, Minter Aldridge, Louie Aldridge, all of Greenwood and Miss Betty Aldridge, Chicago.

Pallbearers were: Hanks Flanagan, Prince McShane, John Humphrey, Dick Cox, Joel Pate, Charlie Bell, Marion Saunders, C. A. Pearce. Honorary Dr. W. B. Dickins, Dr. J. P. Bates, Dr. Fred Sandifer, Dr. E. M. Meek, Shelby Steele and other friends of the family.
