Jeannie Ann Lindsay was born April 26, 1967 in Springfield, Illinois to Charles K. and Sharon L. Wainscott Lindsay.

Jeannie was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church in her youth. She was a graduate of Lanphier High School and formerly worked at and managed Prehop Dry Cleaners, a family business owned by her father. Later, she worked for Nissan and Farmers Insurance Company.

She married Mark Dennis Simpson September 6, 1998 in Springfield. They later divorced.

She was a member of the Illini County Club and a Festival of Trees volunteer for seven years as well as an Amaranth Apple Festival volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, reading, sports and travel.

Jeannie died Sunday, November 28, 2021, at her apartment in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her father and is survived by her mother, a brother, 3 sisters, several nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Yadi, whom she named after a player on her favorite team, The St. Louis Cardinals.
