Hans Lorenz "Larry" Ahrendsen III

Hans Lorenz Ahrendsen, III (aka: Larry), 74, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 27th. He was born August 4, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Hans and Geraldine (Neillie) Lorenz Ahrendsen, Junior.
Larry graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1965 and chose to enlist in the United States Navy post-graduation. He married the love of his life, Patricia (Kramer) in 1967. Once discharged from the Navy, he went to work for Magnavox who then had him transferred to Fort Wayne, IN where they settled for 54 years. After his time with Magnavox, Larry worked for Culligan before choosing to become an entrepreneur and starting his own carpet cleaning business. After a time, he added school bus driving for Southwest Allen County School district for the next 30 years until retirement.
Before having children, Larry and Pat loved the outdoors and spent as many as weekends as they could camping and canoeing. They were members of First Grace Brethren Church where Larry spent many hours volunteering and helping others. He would talk to anyone and shared the love of Jesus Christ with anyone he could. He was a family man who always worked hard to provide for his family. He loved them with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Tracey (Greg Miller) Ahrendsen, Laura (Greg) Congdon, and Leah Abeja; grandchildren, Lilian and Amalia; siblings, Greg (Connie) Ahrendsen, and Bonnie (Alex) Folk; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Ahrendsen.
