Marcus Duane Adair

1940 – 2021

Marcus Duane Adair (aka Uncle Dee/Grampy), age 81, of Edmond, Oklahoma, died on November 30, 2021, at his home. Duane was born on August 6, 1940, in Shattuck, OK, to Marcus and Mary Adair. Duane was a great man, generous landlord, and a committed husband to Carrie Adair for 30 years. He was the father of two beautiful daughters, Ginger Dee Adair and Jill Allison Adair Hampshire, who gave him four grandchildren, Addie Adair Ryan, Emma Adair Ryan, London Adair Bulgarelli, and Maxximo Adair Bulgarelli.

Duane graduated from Follett, Texas, High School in 1958. He then attended George Washington University for a short time while working for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and later attended West Texas State University. Duane held a variety of jobs including selling pots and pans door-to-door, working in the oil industry for Texas Oil and Gas and Lear Petroleum Corporation, a Private Investigator for 20+ years, and finally, another career in the oil business with his own company, Energy Land Consultants, Inc.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Mary Adair, his youngest sister, Linda Peck, and brother-in-law Marvin Hays. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Adair, sisters, Velora Cummings and Ann Hays, as well as his daughters and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 3rd, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Matthews Funeral Home with family to greet friends and guests.

Services will be held Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at the Spring Creek Assembly of God, Edmond, OK, at 10:00 AM.
