Buddy was born to Mildred Lannon and Michael P. Ferrera and was raised in Louisville, Colorado, where he kept his family and the community on their toes. In 1963, he enlisted into the US Army, where he served his country with the utmost honor. He served in the 101st Airborne Reconnaissance Unit during his initial deployment, and he returned from Vietnam in 1966 to plant his roots in the community of Louisville and surrounding areas. Buddy also volunteered for the Louisville Fire Department. Buddy loved the outdoors - he golfed several times a week at Hyland Hills, and fished in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Nevada. His fishing stories alone would make your sides hurt for days from the laughter. Survived by his brother, Allan Ferrera of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his sister, Cathy Wold (Michael) of Louisville, Colorado; nieces, Shondel Seth (Joe) and Laura Ferrera (Cheri Fry), both of Reno, Nevada; stepsister, Beverley Eichhorn (Donald) of Firestone, Colorado; and stepmother, Karol Ferrera of Louisville, Colorado. Buddy's beloved, wonderful cousins were truly like brothers to him: Denny Ferrera (Janet) of Louisville, Colorado; Kenny Ferrera (Carol) of Louisville, Colorado; Dave Ferrera (Mary Carol) of Arvada, Colorado; and Vince Ferrera (Mona) of Louisville, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael A. Ferrera, and his parents, Michael and Mildred.
