An avid learner and writer, she traveled the world extensively to explore world culture and history. Maxine was prolific in her hobby endeavors and produced many works of textile art in quilting, as well as wood carvings. Maxine is most remembered as selfless supporter and a loving person to others. She was always there when you needed someone. Throughout her entire life, Maxine advocated for women's self-determination, financial independence, personal goals and empowerment through education.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert L. Aldredge, Sr.; her mother, Goldie Saylor Harrison; her father, George M. Harrison; her twin sister, Aliene Harrison Powers; and two stepsons, Stephen Aldredge and Douglas Aldredge. She is survived by: a son, Joseph H. Aldredge (Karen A.); two granddaughters, Niamh Aldredge-Wilson (Austin) and Emily Aldredge; a brother, John W. Harrison (Joan); and a stepson, Robert L. Aldredge, Jr.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, at Ray's Grill, in Englewood, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home, in Vandalia.
