Mrs. Rosita Jolley Jones, 80, of Dallas, NC, died peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Robin Johnson House with her family by her side.

She was a native of Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Eula Mae Scruggs Jolley.

Rosita was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she was pianist or organist and Sunday school teacher for many years. She also served as Woman's Missionary Union President and several youth organizations in her local church, as well as Great Gaston Baptist Association. She was a seamstress from 1961 - 1971; taught private piano lessons for 25 years; and taught flower arranging for 15 years in the Adult Education Department of Gaston College. She also served as President of Dallas Extension Homemakers Club; Gaston County Extension Homemakers Family Life Chairman; District E.H. Family Life Chairman; District and State E.H. Music and Cultural Arts Chairman; President of Costner Development Organization; President of Historic Dallas AARP Chapter 4335; served six years on Board of Directors for the Myrtle Hoffman Daycare Center; Recipient of Gaston County Department of Social Services 1974 Volunteer of the year award.

Survivors of Mrs. Jones include her children, Ronald Jones and wife Adrienne of Dallas; Kevin Jones and wife Anna Marie of Lincolnton; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; brother, P. G. Jolley of Mooresboro; sister, Ellen Jolley and husband Thamer "Bud" of Boiling Springs; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William Howard Jones; daughter, LaNelta Ferguson and her husband Harvey; sister, Joyce Dobbs and her husband Harlan; and by her sister-in-law, Syble Jolley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in Founders Chapel of the funeral home with Vernon Carver officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.
