Jesse L. Augustine, 85, 723 E. Sandusky St., a retired farmer, died at 8 p.m., yesterday in the Marlesta Nursing Home.
He was born May 9, 1880 in Wood County, the son of Jacob and Mary (Underwood) Augustine. He moved to Hancock County in 1913. He married Sarah Hipsher, September 25, 1901 and she died in December of 1962.
Surviving are a son, John W., Rawson; a daughter, Mrs. Gaylord (Dorothy) Lauck, Houcktown; a sister, Mrs. Ira (Gladys) Sherman, Bowling Green; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren. Two children, four brothers and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services were held at the Trautman Funeral Home with the Rev. O. S. Goerner officiating. Friends had an opportunity to call at the funeral home. Burial was made in Benton Ridge Cemetery.
