Merle Eugene Holliday, 91, Topeka, passed to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was born January 27, 1930, at his grandparents' farm near Corning, KS, the son of Virgil and Blanche (Williamson) Holliday. Merle accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 27 and was baptized at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 19, 1957. He was a member of Topeka Baptist Church

He attended schools in Jackson County and graduated from Holton High School in 1948. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1959. After returning to Holton in 1959, he was a city letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1985.

Merle was married first on June 21, 1953. They were later divorced. He married again on November 27, 1976, at First Baptist Church in Holton.

Surviving are his wife ; a brother, sons, step-son.

A private graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. In lieu of flowers, Merle requested memorials be given to Topeka Baptist Church, 45th and Gage and sent c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
