Maria was born February 21,1924 in Charkov, Ukraine. She had many brothers and sisters, Maria is my mother in law.
She is the mother of Helen [who passed in 1992] Nicholas and Michael. She has three grandsons Michael, Eric and Adam Kutepow and one great granddaughter Amelia Kutepow.
She was married to Peter Kutepow who passed in 1965.
She and her husband and daughter Helen and son Nicholas came to the US in 1952. Her son Michael was born in the US. They settled in NYC and later she moved to Forest Hills.
During WWII Maria was shot from a German plane and the bullet hit her in her face and other parts of her body. Because of the injuries she lost her left eye. I believe she was taken from the Ukraine and brought to Germany as a field worker during WWII.
After the war she moved to Belgium and later she came to the US.
She was a hard worker and good mother. Sometimes she worked three jobs to support her family after her husband passed away.
She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church and attended until she was no longer able. She was very active in her church.
She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Cause of Death: Natural Causes.She was 83 years old.
