She was the youngest of three children born to James Roosevelt and Annie Mae (Burt) Tatum. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and became a high school English teacher at North Springs and Independence high schools. She married the late Richard (Rick) Brumley in 1991. She served as Head Verger at St. Martin in the Field Episcopal Church and served on the Board of Directors for the Diocese of Atlanta, Verger Chapter. She was also a member of the Herb Society of America. Surviving are her daughter, Jenna Tatum Fredette (Todd); grandson, Evan Fredette; and brother, Ivan (and Billie Jean) Tatum. CoD: COVID-19
