Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at North Fairview Cemetery with Tom Anderson, retired church of Christ minister officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Her sunrise was August 27, 1920, in Arthur City, TX, to Bennie and Agnes Ellis Bishop. She came to Wellington with her family in 1924.
Hattie lived in Haskell from 1955 to 1963 when she returned to Wellington. She married Claude Walker on May 5, 1965, in Wellington. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She was a longtime member of the Fort Worth Street church of Christ and at the time of her sunset was a faithful member of the Bowie Street church of Christ. She was a private housekeeper for many years.
Hattie and Claude delivered meals Home Delivered Meals for several years. She will be remembered for her love of singing with her sisters, The Bishop Sisters.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson Charles R. Rayford, 3 brothers A.B. Bishop, Charles Carney, and Bennie Bishop; 3 sisters Myrtle Faye Bishop, Ruth Ann Bishop, and Vera Mae Johnson.
Left to mourn her passing is her daughter Ella Rayford of Wellington; 2 sisters Bobbie Shrubs and Ruby Nash both of Wellington, and many nieces and nephews.
