Irvon " Sam" Roberson, 86, formerly of Jasper, AL, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side in Louisville, KY on December 8, 2021. She was born on December 12, 1934.

Irvon was a graduate of Walker County High School in Jasper. She was a legal secretary for the majority of her career in Lexington, KY. Irvon was a dedicated Christian, and charter member of Stonewall Wesleyan Church in Lexington for 34 years. Upon moving to Louisville in 1998, she became a member of Southeast Christian Church. Irvon was a compassionate woman who cared deeply for people. She would visit nursing homes daily and spend time with those who had no family or visitors. She made sure people knew they were cared for and thought about, even taking on the role of sole caregiver for Ms. Beulah for many years. Beulah became a part of the family and was everything to Irvon.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Howard C. Roberson; her parents, John and Maudie Browning Lindsey; and siblings Carlton Lindsey, Jake Lindsey, Johnnie Brown, Maudie Gosa, and Lib O'Barr.

She is survived by her daughter Terri (Keith) Bryant of Louisville, KY, sister, MaryNell Vess of Liberty, SC; as well as a host of dearly loved nieces and nephews, and life-long friend, Jonell Banks.

A celebration of Irvon's Life will take place on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 beginning at 6:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm and will conclude at the start of the service.
