80 of Whites Lake. It was with bittersweetness that our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear companion was chosen to join his Father's Kingdom in Heaven. Born at home in West Dover, he was a son of the late Lewis and Rachel Berringer. Byron slipped from this world to the next peacefully surrounded by his family, Thursday, May 19th, 2016, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. He is survived by his daughters, Darlene (Steven) Norris, Prospect Bay; Sheri Gallivan, Whites Lake; special 'daughter' Danielle (Paul) Thibault, Belliveau Cove and his very dear and loving friend and companion, Brenda Cowie, Brookside; grandchildren, Vickie, Stephanie, Nathan, Jordan, Lindsay, Jorja and Rene; great-grandchildren, J.J., Darryl, Brent, Nakylah and Brooklynne; many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia; son, Alan and 22 siblings. Byron was the last remaining member of his family of origin. He will be surely missed by his buddy, Hershey. He was employed for over 50 years with Pierceys' Building Supplies and many years part-time with J. Albert Walker Funeral Home. He dedicated his life to God through active service at St. James, West Dover and St. Timothy's, Hatchet Lake. His legacy of faith, honesty, hard work and perseverance will live on in us.
