Ralph L. Harwick, 79, Mission, Kansas passed away December 3, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Ralph was born on January 2, 1942 in Centralia, KS to Harold and Laura (Vestal) Harwick. He grew up in Kansas City, KS where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife of 58 years. Ralph was in high school when he started working for Union Pacific Railroad until he went into the Army from 1966-1968. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to the railroad, where he retired after 43 years in 2003.

Ralph was very active in the Boy Scouts as his sons were growing up. He is a member of American Legion Post 370 in Overland Park for 21 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed painting, fishing, and cooking.

Ralph was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Harold Harwick; and sister, Bernadean (Harwick) Long.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice (Grimes) Harwick of Mission, KS; children, Timothy (Dana) Harwick of Linwood, KS, daughter, Christi Harwick of Belton, MO, and son, Sherin (Sherris) Harwick of Edwardsville, KS; grandchildren, Anna, Skylar, Alyssa, Breanna, Nicole, Baylie, Dylan, Kailyn, Zoey, and Wyatt; great grandchildren, Donovan, Merida, and Scarlett; and sister, Sharon (Joe) Plummer.
