Lee Albrecht, 81 passed away December 8, 2021 at his residence in Hillsboro. He was born February 3, 1940 in Pretty Prairie, Kansas to Harvey & Helen (Kaufman) Albrecht. Lee was born during a snowstorm. He attended school & graduated from Pretty Prairie, Kansas in 1957. He married Verda Bergen September 20, 1959 in Henderson, NE. Through this union they were blessed with one son Mike and daughter Margo.

Lee graduated from Bethel college with a major in Industrial Arts -he then earned a Masters in Education at Emporia State. He spent his entire 22 years of teaching Middle school at Hillsboro & Lehigh. He taught math, arithmetic & PE. Lee really enjoyed teaching and of course he was always involved in coaching – junior high boys' football for 17 years – junior high boys' basketball and girls basketball and track, and coaching high school girls basketball for seven years. He was also assistant high school boys coach. The Highlight of his coaching career was taking the high school girls' basketball team to the state tournament, where they came in 3rd. He was a great influence to many young lives along the way. He did not use his Industrial Arts major professionally, but he remodeled several houses and built quite a lot of furniture for the MCC sale and family.

After his teaching career he began custom harvesting. He harvested for 30 years beginning the wheat harvest run in Oklahoma and ending in South Dakota. He also did the fall harvest in Nebraska, for many years. He made many life long friends along the way.
Lee never met a stranger. He loved telling jokes, and pulling them. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fanatic, following his grandkids, Hillsboro High School, the Jayhawks and the Chiefs. Lee loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: wife, Verda Albrecht of Hillsboro; son Michael (Hallie) Albrecht of Philip, SD; granddaughter Jandie Heinrich, great granddaughters Mikah & Quinn, granddaughter Lexie (Jerry) Rhodes, great grandsons Jaxon, Joey & Jakob & granddaughter Sarah Pries (Zane) great grandchildren Trale & Timber.
