Two different versions of her death on 16 and 17 Apr 1941 in the Evening Star, the first that she lived at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leila M. Dulin in Friendship Heights, went on her daily stroll and was later found dead in the Georgetown Canal. The next day in the same newspaper, the place of death was listed as her own home in Chevy Chase, MD.
