He graduated in 2007 from St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, OH, where he was he played Lacrosse and football. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Ohio State University in 2011 with a degree in Security and Intelligence, and was a member and President of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 14 years. He began his Guard experience in Ohio, moving to Indiana, and lastly to Colorado, serving in all three states. He was a combat veteran who deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan as part of the 1413th ENCO out of Franklin, IN. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He had been living in Colorado for 5 years, and was formerly of Lafayette, IN and Westerville, OH. Surviving are his parents, Thomas J and Donna K Albany of Westerville, OH; siblings, Caitlin Albany of Conshohocken, PA, Brian (and Alyssa) Albany of Lewis Center, OH, and Gracie Albany of Columbus, OH; nephew, Brennan; and two nieces, Annie and Emma.
