James Edward Pitts, age 88, of Pinson, AL, passed away on December 14th, 2021. Ed was born on December 11, 1933.
On December 11th of this year, he and Lee were married 67 years. They had 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Rena Horn and Bonnie Lavert Pitts; stepmother Evelyn Logan Pitts; mother-in-law Eula MacRae Gray and father-in-law Joe S. Gray; stepbrother Jerry Logan; sisters Elaine Austin, Betty Lou Gilliland, Pauline Henderson; brothers Arthur (Pete) Pitts, Johnny Green, Clarence Green, and Roland Eugene Pitts.
He is survived by his wife Effie Lee Gray Pitts; son James E Pitts Jr (Linda); daughters Tina Goodman and Kris Whitaker; sisters Mary Hutchens and Vicki Jones; sister-in-laws Jo Logan, Bobbie Pitts, Eula Mae Neal (Carrell); Grandchildren Randall, Michael, Keith, Michelle, Jessica, Joey, Emily, Rena, Tiffany, and Brandi; 20 great-grandchildren,1 great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
