Mr. James E. Little was born on November 20, 1939, in Chesterfield, SC . He was the son of the
late Albert Sturdivant and the late Estelle Little-Blue. He attended Chesterfield Public Schools.
Mr. James E. later met and married Dorothy V. Bennett and in 1964, they moved to New
Haven, CT to start their new life. Mr. James E. Little worked as a self-employed construction
worker and became a Master Masonry by trade. Mr. James E. Little joined Pitts Chapel UFWB
Church sometime in 1990 where he later gave his life to Christ. He later joined the Pitts
Chapel Male Chorus where he enjoyed singing and attending engagements with the group. He
was a Mason since 1998.
Mr. James E. Little, affectionately known as "Pop", loved spending time with his family, and
enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and would often run around
with them as though he was still in his youthful days all over again. He loved spending time at
his families' homes for family gatherings, family reunions, cookouts, etc. He never met a
stranger and would often go the extra mile to help others.
Mr. Little leaves behind a host of family and friends who truly loved and adored him. He is
survived by his four daughters: Angela Little (Columbus, GA), Sheila Little (Riverdale, GA) and
Margaret Little (Douglasville, GA), and Dorothea Little (West Haven, CT); his five sons: Eddie
Little (New Haven, CT), Robert Little (Virginia) James Little, Ryan Little and Eric Little (all of
North Carolina); Sisters, Corina Graham (Piscataway, NJ), Lillian Vinston (Hamden, CT), Eliza-
beth Smith/Samuel (Cambria Heights, NY); Flossie Marshall (Temple Hills, MD), Vivian
Blue-Hughes/Robert (Upper Marlboro, MD), Frances B. Blue (Honolulu, HI), Susan Blue-Stan-
ton/Dwayne (Lanham, MD), mother-in-law, whom he adored, Rosa Bell Bennett, and a special
niece, Sharon Little-Drew/Demetrius (Hartford, CT). He also leaves behind a host of grandchil-
dren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mr. Little was predeceased by his parents, Albert Sturdivant and Estelle Little-Blue; grandpar-
ents, Tom & Louisa Little; Sister, Margaret Pitt; Brother, James Calvin Little; his cousin who was
more like a brother, Bobby Gene Little, and his great grandson whom he absolutely adored,
Jai'Rus Jeremiah Little.
